2023 | Red Wine
Garnet-red in colour with an aroma reminiscent of wild berries, raspberry and blackberry. Compact, elegant, fruity and spicy. The demanding and beguiling Pinot Noir grape thrives in the cool yet sunny vineyards of Eppan and Kaltern yielding a structured wine with elegant fullness. Strikingly similar to a Burgundian Pinot.
Classification: DOC Alto Adige | ABV: 13.5% | Closure: Natural Cork
My family and I found this quite sharp - like an imbalance of red currant versus raspberry - even after 30 minutes after opening. It was also stony dry - so quite a challenge, even for a Pinot die-hard like me. The sharpness dropped off on day 2 and 3 after being opened, which I hadn't expected. Not quite enjoyable enough to order again. |
